Episode 3 – Vagscaping

From plucking, shaving, waxing, sugaring, depilation, bleaching, electrolysis, to the bush being back, we are talking all things hair removal.

Episode 2 – Low Libido

Female sexual dysfunction takes different forms, including lack of sexual desire, impaired arousal, inability to achieve orgasm, pain with sexual activity, or a combination of these issues.

Diet & Lifestyle

Setting aside specific time to prioritize your sexual health and life. Assess factors like schedule and kids and try to make adjustments for time for intimacy with your partner with date nights.

  • Assess lifestyle factors. Try to carve out time to exercise, quit smoking and avoid excessive alcohol intake. Address any body image concerns or posttraumatic stress disorder concerns with your provider or therapist.
  • Seek help from a Professional.
  • Talk to your provider about any incontinence or prolapse concerns that may be causing avoidance of sex. Also consider a consultation with a professional sex therapist. To find a licensed professional go to http://www.aasect.org .
  • Consider making more Heart Healthy Meals. Heart healthy meal plans can improve blood flow and improve sexual health.

Increase fiber in your diet which is a natural “prebiotic” and will help a probiotic to work effectively to grow your natural vaginal bacteria back. High fiber foods include beans, oatmeal, whole wheat grains, brown rice, vegetables, fruits with the skin on them (apples, blueberries).

Vitamins

Consider taking consistent Zinc 30mg. When taken by mouth daily, Zinc can improve vaginal health.

Another great option is Celery seed. Celery seed 500mg everyday for 6 weeks in a study improved sexual function in women, leading to improvements in sexual desire, arousal, lubrication and pain and can be used as a safe, well- tolerated, and effective herbal medicine.

Maca has been shown to improve low libido. It is an Andean root vegetable used for fertility, sexual arousal, and relief of hot flashes. In dose ranges of 1.5-3g per day it was shown in clinical trials to have a positive effect.

Consider adding Arginmax For Women to your daily routine. Arginmax For Women has been shown to improve sexual desire and satisfaction when taken for at least 4 weeks daily. However, women with uncontrolled herpes outbreaks need to avoid this option.

Stronvivo is also a great option. Stronvivo can also improve desire, arousal , lubrication and reduce pain related to sex when taken for 90 days plus. Women with uncontrolled herpes outbreaks need to avoid this option.

A topical option would be Zestra. Zestra essential oils blend for topical application placed externally on the vulva and clitoris can improve desire and arousal. Never use this with latex condoms and monitor for burning reactions.

Product Information

Invest in natural product condoms. Consistent condom use has been shown to reduce BV infections.

Get in front of any early signs of BV and consider investing in vaginal pH test strips. Easy to find on Amazon.

Avoid scented products. If you must douche to feel clean or more odor balanced, the only one I recommend is WaterWorks Douching System.

Consider ditching pantyliners and tampons all together especially at night. Consider period underwear.

Change to all cotton underwear and seriously consider avoiding thongs all together. Wear loose fitting underwear and clothing especially if you feel like something’s brewin’. Consider going commando at night.

Ask your doctor about getting Fem pH (trademark) on board. This is a prescription vaginal jelly that acts to restore and maintain vaginal acidity through its buffered action. It needs to be placed twice daily everyday to see its maximum benefit.

Episode 1 – Vaginitis

Vaginitis is an extension of a yeast infection and inflammation of the vagina that can result in discharge, itching, and pain.

Diet

Add fermented foods to your meals as often as you can. Examples are kefir, miso, kimchi, tempeh, and kombucha. Watch the sugar content of some kombucha drink preps.

Reduce or ideally eliminate processed sugars in your daily meal plans. Processed sugars are anything that is not in its whole, natural form. Even the sugar in alcohol can be a big trigger.

Vitamins

Boric acid vaginal suppositories taken for 30 days after an oral antibiotic treatment for either BV or yeast infections can keep recurrent infections at bay. Boric acid should be stored away from access to children, should NEVER be taken ORALLY, and never taken when pregnant or trying for pregnancy. Not all boric acid supplements are created equally so if you find that the following formulations are not quite cutting it, ask your doctor to prescribe a compounded formulation.

Invest in vaginal Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) to reduce recurrent BV. These are silicone coated supplements that release Vitamin C slowly. For recurrent BV, using Vitamin C suppositories for 6 days after each cycle can cut the risk of recurrence in half.
